Game Objective

How to Play
The Deck
Euchre employs a special deck, usually composed of the 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of all four suits, 24 cards in all. The shorter deck maintains the play as active and quick.

Dealing and Setup
There are five cards dealt to each player, clockwise.
The rest form the “kitty,” with the top card being turned over.
The turned-over card indicates the trump suit for the game at hand.
Drawing Trump
Players from the left to the dealer take turns determining if they wish to take the face-up card suit as trump. If everyone declines, a re-round is conducted where players are allowed to choose another suit. If no player takes trump, the dealer gets to choose.

Playing Tricks
The leader of the trump calls the first trick.
Players get to play the suit called when they have it; otherwise, they can use any card.
The lowest-ranking card in suit led wins the trick, other than a trump card being led, in which case the trump with the best rank wins.
Scoring
If the team calling wins four or three tricks, they gain 1 point.
Winning all five tricks earns 2 points.
The opposing team will get 2 points when their team wins more tricks than they do.
